Employment Opportunites
Now Hiring Seasonal Gardeners!
Requirements:
A basic knowledge of plants and plant identification as well as some general gardening techniques are essential.
A great attitude and flexibility for the tasks that get thrown your way. Your work ethic is just as important as your knowledge. This is essentially a manual labor position and sometimes we are shoveling compost into wheel barrels or painstakingly removing landscape cloth. It’s not always that fun but it is made tolerable by your mindset.
Attention to detail and recognizing when you may need help or advice with a task.
A love of working outside. We sometimes work through light rain, high heat and as of late, mild smoke. Heavy rain or snow and extreme smoke days are days off.
The ability to follow directions and complete tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
An ability to lift 50 lbs as well as having reliable transportation. We often meet on-sight instead of at our headquarters so being there on time is essential.
Responsibilities:
The majority of this job is garden maintenance. Deadheading, staking, edging, cultivating and general ‘primping’ of garden beds and seasonal containers.
Planting annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees when needed.
Using hand tools as well as our battery operated blowers and hedge trimmers.
Filling out worksheets and being able to accomplish all tasks in a timely manner.
Positions start mid-late April and run through October. We are looking for full time employees but will consider part time if you are the right fit. We work Monday - Friday with scattered start and end times. (approximately 8:30-5:00, 30-40 hours/week). We don’t service lawns but do roll with the punches! Wages start at $21/hour. If you seem like a good fit please email your cover letter and resume to Amber at hello@junipergardens.net. We can’t wait to hear from you!
